At Halte en Cocagne, our Corporate Social Responsibility approach is not a trend: it is the guiding thread of our story.

For more than 25 years, we have been developing a project rooted in its territory, respectful of the environment and attentive to the women and men who bring it to life. Today, this commitment is being strengthened through an audit aimed at obtaining the Green Key label, a demanding recognition of our dedication.

A story of conviction

Our environmental commitment dates back to the estate's conversion to organic farming in 1996. When we developed our hospitality activity from 2007 onwards, it seemed natural to extend this philosophy to catering and the management of our houses.

Preserving what exists, enhancing heritage, limiting our impact: every project is designed with sustainability in mind.

Renovating differently: natural materials and local craftsmanship

We favour renovation choices that respect old buildings and their environment:

Use of natural materials such as lime and hemp, allowing walls to breathe
Use of local wood (poplar, Douglas fir, oak), often processed on site
Restored or locally sourced second-hand furniture to limit the production of new items
Collaboration with local craftspeople, safeguarding expertise and local employment

Each house is restored with respect for its history, with particular attention paid to its ecological footprint.

Managing energy and resources

We implement concrete solutions to reduce our consumption:

Development of renewable energy sources (photovoltaic power plant, geothermal energy)
High-performance ecological insulation (lime-hemp, hemp concrete)
Rainwater collection and reuse
Optimised energy equipment adapted to existing buildings

Our goal: to combine high-end comfort with energy efficiency.

Responsible day-to-day management

In running our houses and welcoming our guests, we have put in place simple and effective practices:

Selective waste sorting and on-site composting
Use of ecological cleaning products that respect natural balances
Waste reduction, particularly by limiting single-use plastics
Mindful management of water and green spaces (drip irrigation, natural treatments)

We believe that these everyday actions are what truly make a difference.

Supporting a local and sustainable economy

We work closely with our local area:

Showcasing local producers for meals and welcome products
Homemade products or items sourced through short supply chains
Recommendations of committed providers for your stays and events
